  1. the team had much more dynamic than under Koeman, too much lost ball, and I think the Defense needs a real upgrade,….this was pure luck, but this is in this game. I'd say, we should give Xavi a whole season to gather his metrics, about all the players, performance, matches, international break frequencies and impact on the team, etc. he can't fix our team with a magic wand. Under Koeman, the team has fallen apart into multiple pieces, lost dynamics, etc and it takes time, so much time, to build the new barca and give the players a system that finally works. I wish good luck for Xavi, he'll become one of the greatest 🙂

  2. Don’t get too excited my Barca friends we already know this was just luck I don’t see no potential in out squad even with xavi as coach we defiantly won’t even come close to la liga or champions Real is tooo good right now this is there decade while we watch them celebrate we cry but there is a come back some day …..

  3. Offensively they look better. Not great but definitely better than under Koeman.
Espanyol got very unlucky in the second half. There were at least 2-3 clear chances to score. This is a huge red flag for Xavi’s side. Barcelona’s defense is atrocious especially in set plays. They just stand and watch the ball.
They lost composure and they started falling back to their old ways of desperate fouls and blaming each other.
Xavi has a lot of work to do. I didn’t expect them to be completely transformed in a few days. You can see what he’s trying to do with this team and I applaud him. I give it 4 months before we start to see a good team with decent chemistry

  4. I did not like what I saw with Nico. Too often he took too many touches solely to make a pass that killed the fluidity of an attack. Too often caught up in the drama of the match, granted he is young and this is his first derby. His timing to get in to space to receive a ball was lacking for the most part. Overall his awareness needs a lot of work. He should not be starting, and against sharper opposition he will be torn apart.
